Ok, I was driving to work today and happened to stop at a local grocery store for something to drink, when I ran into one of my teachers from high school. For some reason or another, I suddenly started thinking about the time that I had in school. Did I do a good enough job? What things did I miss out on? Could I have done some things differently? If so, what were they?

Just a very short post to promote an under-used and vitally important asset that is available to all of you- the
National Fire Academy. I'm here for year four of my Executive Fire Officer journey and getting to network with people from all over the world- there's even a mate from Australia in my class. I get to learn from world-class instructors and I get to sleep in a government-regulation bed (maybe that's not so great) and I get to hang at at the…

Have some good news from Michigan for a change. My wife has been set for her final surgery, this date is set for Septemeber 3, 2008. This should end her surgeries for quite a while. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 6, 2006. This will be the final step of reconstruction. Then all that she will have is doctor appointments. This has been a hard road, but now that everything has worked out we are greatly relieved. She found out she was cancer free in November of 2007. This was also…

Okay we see and deal with this everyday. That one person(s) that no one wants to work with. How do you deal with that?
Sure, everyone is special in their own little way, but what about yourself, have you looked in the mirror lately? How about that person(s) feelings, do they think the same about you? Or do they go home at the end of the day and say, "I can really learn something from them, only if they let me". In other words, you don't want to deal with them because you think they…

Ok, everyone. I know all of you in the EMS services have them. The frequent flyers who call every day or every shift and cause immediate stress reactions when the address is announced. What is it THIS time? Why do they call EVERY shift? It's easy sometimes to lose your cool and your professionalism with these patients. It's even harder sometimes to remember that every call to these patients could actually be a real emergency. Complacency kills. How many of these calls have you made? How many of…

Yesterday from 0900-1700 I was out at one of our local parks first doing some rope rescue training by repelling and rock climbing as well as hiking, then afterwards some of my group went caving and swimming in lower level whitewater.
My new knee bits held up fantastic! no instability, pain, or swelling!
I think I can now officially say that I am back to my old active self and can put away the constant fear of re-dislocation :) :)

well it's monday morning. not much happened this weekend, dont know if that's a good or bad thing. Seems like my community has a rogue trash can burner out there. past few weekends at least one trash can or dumpster was on fire in the middle of the night. fire was put out pretty wucik and no one got hurt, which in my opinion is the most important part. I like that fact that i am always learning something new. LIke the cheif explained about us using the scba's and face sheilds on the trash…

u know im sorry but i get realy annoyed when people comment on other people's blogs that have nothing to do with the topic of the blog u know like some one will ask the question what is ur preferance on Truck color. But there is always some Jack Ass that feels he has to be Above everyone else with his nose held high and say "Well as long as it gets the job done does it realy matter". My take on that YEA because we all Like differant colors like me i personally think trucks shouldnt be anything…
