This is virtually the same as what we call "waterball", instead of a barrel we use a 8 to 10 inch ball attached to a pulley.

One word of caution: wear your helmet when doing this! Last week one of our members was bonked on the head, fortunately he had his helmet on. I also have been slapped with the nozzle, due to kinks in the hose, low NP, scrambling backwards, etc. etc.

We have one every year at Mason Days. I don't know if what we use are official but the way we do it is this. The court is set up with a half inch dia cable strung between two posts. the posts are 110 feet apart and the cable is strung so when the barrel is hung it is 10 feet from the ground to the center of the barrel. we use a pony keg that was donated by one of the local bar owners. it is hung with a four pulley trolley (two above the cable and two below) with a swivle between the trolley and keg. we have a white area about the same length of the trolley painted on the cable in the middle and a white win zone painted at each end 45 feet from center. we run 2-1/2 inch supply to a gated "y" then 200 feet of 1-1/2 off each side of the y. we have a 1/2 inch straight bore nozle at the end of each line mounted on a pistol grip. the teams can be 2 to 5 members as long as the same number is on each team. water flow is 60 to 90 psi depending on the number of members per team. the starting line is 20 feet each side of center. once the two teams are in place the nozels are opened and the streams are crossed above the barrel then the go is given. the first team to push the barrel into there win zone is the winner. some people put a time limit on it but we just keep going until someone wins. if you loose controll of the nozle or spray the other team directley you are disqualified. if you have enough teams just set it up like any sports bracket win you go on to the next round loose and your done then the final is the best two out of three.
