Started with a bang (at least for somebody else) we had to relieve B-Sift on the scene of a Dwelling Fire.
Small single family, lots of stuff everywhere, Fire started in the Basement, and extended up to the first floor via the Bathroom.
Waited for FID, did some overhaul, went home.
Only had one more call all day and got cancelled on that.
Got lots of administrative stuff though.
Well guess I'll try again tomorrow night.
Stay Safe,
Lt Dan

Well here we are 1st night in, not much going on.
Cut-up a "has-been" demolition-derby car for Auto-ex training.
Not having much luck trying to "Jack" the dash with spreaders instead of "Rolling" it with a ram.
Any suggestions out there?
Well going to finish watching some football, then see if I can get some sleep or not.
Go Patsies! (I mean Patriots)
Stay safe
Lt. Dan

When I am called to duty, God, wherever flames may rage,
Give strength to save some life whatever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child before it is too late,
Or save an older person from the horror of that fate.
Help me be alert and hear the weakest shout,…

When the signal goes off, and he's needed to fight, he responds without fear, knowing the danger is in sight. Whatever the order, his dispatcher cries out, as he turns on his flasher, I can hear him shout: "Gotta run doll no time for good-bye". Oh I pray, Dear God, please watch over my guy. He's gentle and loving, he's strong and he's brave, and forever in training, for that…

Bravery, quick thinking and dedication too, these are the essential elements of the noble job they do. Possessing the technical knowledge they do is only one part of the game, it takes more than confidence in equipment to tackle a wall of flame. Through the smoke, soot, and darkness, a firefighter answers the call. To protect the lives of others, they dare to risk it all. These…

As the days grow colder and the days inch by to that infamous monthly meeting the first Monday in December, claws come out and true colors show in my fire department. Yearly elections! As if we don't see whom is buttering up whom in hopes of winning their votes... the promises made that vary so greatly from person to person depending on who they are made to. Every attempt is made to backstab anyone standing in their way. It's absolutely pathetic. Immature, assinine behavior…

Well 1st Day for C-Shift this trick and I'm detailed to the Engine again.
Another day in the Fire Triangle OOOHHH.
Caught a bed fire (not a bedroom just the bed) and a lot of smoke.
We were 3rd Engine in so not much work.
On the way to the shop we happened upon a Tractor-Trailer who ran over something and put a whole in one of his Diesel Tanks.
Made a real mess on I-695. (The Beltway)
Got to put some of those OP. skills to work. Diking and damming on…
