FR. JOE BLESSES THE CHICKEN WITH EVANS CENTER'S SECRET FAMILY RECIPE SAUCE WHILE BRUCE GREEN SR.
LISTENS INTENTLY

A chicken BBQ to benefit the Franciscan Center www.franciscancenterinc.org was held on Sunday-October 14. The fund-raiser was hosted by the Elma Volunteer Fire Company and organized by a group known as Friends of Father Joe.

A total of 700 halves of chicken were cooked by members of the Evans Center Volunteer Fire Company's BBQ team who donated their time to benefit this worthwhile effort. The chicken sold out, a huge crowd turned out for the chinese and large item auctions and a great time was had by all. Firefighters and first responders from all over Western New York gathered to support Father Joe Bayne, Chief Chaplain of the Erie County Department of Emergency Services and Executive Director of the Franciscan Center.

Special thanks and congratulations go to Elma Fire Chief Skip Yuhnke and his crew of helpers who so graciously laid out the red carpet for anything that the event team needed, and to Janis and Jim McCullough and their committee for coordinating and organizing such a successful event for the fourth year in a row.

Most of all, thanks go to the hundreds of citizens, firefighters, EMTs and other friends of Father Joe who turned out to support the life-saving services of the Franciscan Center.
