Twas the night before Christmas and all through the town,

the fire siren echoed blaring its sound.

The firefighters came running from far and from near,

and raced to the trucks quickly donning their gear.



And I in my bunkers my boots and my hat,

jumped to the engine to see where the fire's at.

Down at the corner of Fifth and of Oak,

the dispatcher informed us of a house filled with smoke.



Smoke poured from the sides, from up and from down,

yet…

4-5 runs each Day. (2 Days and 1 night actually)

Broke 1500 (rpy) last night.

But its last night night in, pushin 11pm and haven't turned a Wheel.

Got to wash the wife's truck though.

Editing my original post for suggestions and such regarding our department "consolidation".

No matter what we do, or how bad we don't want it to happen, nothing short of a miracle can save us. Our Department is destined to go. If not now, with dignity, eventually- and on worse terms.
