Christmas 2008

I know there have been a large volume of posts about the Christmas season. (My Christmas is your holiday, suck it up) I write a blog here and there to stir up some thought process.

WILDFIRE At Home In a Wildfire

This is a story of my experiences that I was asked to write for a local book about a wildfire that came through my area in 2006.

Christmas Not Off To A Good Start....

We put the Christmas tree up last night.

While getting everything in place and sorting through the decorations and stuff, we found a present we forgot to give the kids last year.

You should have seen their faces as they unwrapped the present and looked inside.....

....poor puppy.

seizing my day

seizing my day....

this is the feeling i get. these are the words i choose to share with you what i was feeling, and wrote out in like 10 mins, on the way back from cleveland to the station. it has nothing to do with the ego boosts i have received, or the DOA i just got back from before traveling to cleveland? this kind of thing flows from me on a daily basis nowdays. most i cannot share, most is dark, or would hurt someone else. but this is what i can share.

ISO - he came, he looked around, and he went....

Man, what a let down.

Well, not really.... more like relief.

9am this past Monday morning the ISO guy showed up, as well as 2 reps from the state fire marshall's office. It turned out to be no big deal. Since we're one of 15 districts that make up Santa Fe County Fire, he had all the communications stuff already on file. NEW CASTLE COUNTY, DE (December 23, 2008) -- Delaware State Police late Monday identified the driver of a BMW which ran down Firefighter Michelle Smith and an injured motorcyclist, as Joseph Taye, 28, of Bear, Delaware. Delaware Firefighter Dies After Weekend Accident

DELAWARE CITY, DE (December 22, 2008) -- A Delaware City (DE) Volunteer Firefighter died today of injuries she sustained after being run down by a motorist on US Route 13 at the New Castle County Airport. She's finally here

I would like to announce the birth of my first child. On wednsday 12/17/08, Paityn Corinne Bates arrived at 6:34 pm , she is a perfectly healthy little girl weighing 7lbs 15 oz. and measuring 19 1/2 inches.she is absolutely beautiful, and her mother and I are so happy to have her. Hospital Visit YAY
