September 11th 7 years this Thursday!!!!

Well to think that it has been 7 long years since we were under attack form people who hate us for being a free country.I have watched in the years as they pasted that the flag flying has gotten less.Fire and police and ems were praised.Patriotic people were on every street and car but we have gotten quite again.Lets fly the flags again on the cars and trucks let get the proud feeling alive again.Let us not forget the people that lost thier lives and the one that gave thiers to try to save… Continue

practice makes perfect

It's not enough just to train but we need to be sure we perform tasks correctly, or as we would on scene. If your gonna do a search drill; wear a pack , have a tool and a lite, a radio, and of course wear all your PPE, "even my hood" yes even your hood. practice does not make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect.A coach i had as a kid drilled that phrase into my head. Does Your Department Specialise in Plate Spinning?

Been a While

I havent posted since wayyy back when, been really busy. Graduated in June 08', and since moved to baltimore. Was about to join Riviera Beach, but just got the news we are going to make another move. To South Carolina! Pretty big move. We visited Greenville and decided that was where we wanted to be. It is so beautiful there. AMAZING.

Parents of jr.fire fighters or cadets

We are trying too get info from other parents of jr firefighters or cadets.What training does your dept. offer.What can your kids do?We have a great program that teaches safety first.We teach them to respect the situation. My daughter started at 13 and is now 15. She wants to be an emt and firefighter.Her experiance will help her when she turns 18 and can join and go in the hot zone.Be safe.

Family home burns down second time in one year

I was at both of these fires..

SARANAC - A fire destroyed a Saranac home owned by Greg and Becky Griffin at 5328 Bennett Road around 4 p.m. Monday, leaving Saranac fire chief Jim Darby to declare the house a “complete loss.”

It was the second time the home at that address has been demolished by a fire, after a blaze destroyed the home last October.

The family was not home when that fire occurred, either.

Hastings officials sorry about overlooked remains

HASTINGS - The mayor, the fire chief and other public officials in Hastings have sent a letter of apology to a family after firefighters overlooked their relative's remains in a car that burned in a driveway.

The daughter of 62-year-old Paul Bailey Sr. of Barry County's Rutland Township found his remains more than two hours after firefighters extinguished the Aug. 29 blaze and cleared the scene.

Class Text Books

Hi Brothers and Sisters, Just wanted to let everyone know that I recieved my Paramedic books today and from the orientation 2 weeks ago or so we have already been assigned reading homework. So as of now my time on FFN will be limited more than I would like but, in the long run will be worth it. Body found after Fire dept left the scene

HASTINGS -- The sight was terrifying, Johnny Montes said of seeing his father-in-law's scorched remains in the shell of a burned car.
