Stress Relief at Sebastian Inlet

Back at work after a much needed 4 days off, fishing from the south jetty of Sebastian Inlet and Haulover Canal between Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon. Thanks go out to the Firefighters of Brevard County Fire and Rescue Stn 65 "the last one in the county" for the shirts and photo opportunity.

There's something to be said for "getting away from it all", even if only for a little while, but no matter where I go, I can't leave fire and rescue behind completely.

The Guys At The Station Wrote This For My Boyfriend Lol.

We are very dedicated to our work. We wear firefighter shirts everyday, even when we're not on duty. The fire department is our second home, and our second family. It often seems as if our lives revolve around the fire department, but it means nothing compared to our girl Christian. We are normally friendly people, but if you hurt our girl you will make us mad. We know our girl is growing up, even if we don't like it. She seems to like you so we'll tolerate you dating her, but here's a few… Continue

Notes from a Rookie Firefighter

Notes from a Rookie Firefighter...April 10, 2010

My little guy has been on the mend from a tonsillectomy and addenoidectomy a week ago and thank goodness it all came together before I started my new job. The weather here in NJ is finally getting warmer, and this week we topped 80 degrees a few days. For me, that means I can get back out into fire duty. Our department forbids us from writing about anything fire department related anymore, but I got to do my FAVORITE I mean…

Feeling Like I Just Drove Back Into My Old Neighborhood

The other day I flipped over to FFN and realized, I didn't know why, but I haven't really posted anything on FFN lately. I see a lot of the same names and many, many new ones, but it's so hard to be here and everywhere else, so unfortunately, I miss a lot of what is going on over here.

However, given some of the heated rhetoric I have seen, I wanted to forward something that was shared with me (Paraphrased from Dhammavadaka):

"Remember always that you are just a visitor… Continue

These Boots are Still Made for Walkin....

I erroneously made an assumption that my original blog post below was yanked and sent to the Principal's office for violation of TOS (that's Terms of Service for you acronym-challenged folk)--but we all know what happens when assumptions are made.
