Notes from a Rookie Firefighter...April 10, 2010
My little guy has been on the mend from a tonsillectomy and addenoidectomy a week ago and thank goodness it all came together before I started my new job. The weather here in NJ is finally getting warmer, and this week we topped 80 degrees a few days. For me, that means I can get back out into fire duty. Our department forbids us from writing about anything fire department related anymore, but I got to do my FAVORITE I mean FAVORITE thing this week - help with a b_us_ f_re (see - there - many of will guess but I didn't tell you). I got to do alot of work and it rejuvenited my fighting fire spirit. Today we cleaned up a local park, not much to do, and I got a lesson on what skeletons match which animals. Ummm, very interesting.
Believe it or not, my juvi girl is not speaking to me because she actually read one of my firefighternation posts that mentioned her. I didn't even know they let kids use the computer there, no less Google their mother!!! Oh well such is life.
Remember the oil tank blog and photos I had to remove about a month ago? Well, finally got the results in and there was no ground water problem with the tank. The two holes at the top were nothing more than corrosion and since we never had the tank filled all the way, we were cool. So I am getting rid of the big house next week and can settle down into my new life, new job, and freedom.
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Love your rookie firefighter
