I just wanted to let every one know that the pic I have on my front page is my best friend that anyone could ever have, she trun 13 years old this year,Will we had to put her down cause she fall about two weeks ago and broke some bones in her back and losted the blood flow to her legs so the vet had to put her down she was friends with everyone that she knew, she will be sadly missed by all that knew her. 'The Fire Came Down on Us'

"It seemed like a routine house fire in the early evening .... the fire began in the first floor living room and burned slowly at first but with enough intensity to burn through the ceiling into the second floor. lives lost in fires the after effect

recently here in east texas one of our local fire staion got a call just before 6 am the childrens lives were lost. 8 months earlier they lost 3 other kids. i and other firefighters were at both tragic fires. i know we are not to question y it happened but i will never understand. it has draw alot of our local fire depts closer. i know in my heart i am closer to them then before. but it eats at u but we still go forward with our jobs. the thang is we are volunter fire depts and we love what we… Continue

St Baldrick's

Yesterday I shaved my head for the St baldrick's fundraiser. I brought in $800!! A bit short of my goal but something is better than nothing. This is my 2nd year doing this. Next Year will be better. I have put a few photos up for your amusement.

HELP RECOVER MISSING THERMAL IMAGER

On February 11, 2008 it was determined that our Thermal Imaging Camera was missing from the vehicle mount charger on Truck-1. We conducted an investigation to locate it, but turned up nothing. It has since been reported to the New York State Police for investigation and criminal prosecution.

The camera is an MSA Evolution 5000 TIC serial #A4-12377-C04. It was purchased from Jerome Fire Equipment on 5/31/05.

Fire in Salisbury NC

Over 3 LDH lays, one nurse pumper feeding out of two drop tanks supplying water to an aerial, and I filled over 30 tankers with water today along with a Chief, Captain, Engineer and another Fire Fighter. Personally was on the water point for over 4 hours today with my department running tanker shuttles.

1400 - Called out to check a burn-off in a backyard.

Owner was extinguishing the fire when we arrived, said he 'didn't know of the restrictions'. Idiot. Backyard burnoffs are forbidden all year round where he lives.

1830 - Called to a 'washaway' at our worst intersection.

More snow on the way and reflections on class

Of course. The day we are doing practicals at the academy for hittin hydrants we are supposed to get heavy snow with 1 to 3 inches poss. Oh well train like you play. Not every fire scene is going to be ideal, I don't mind the snow It makes you more aware I think, But it will be fun watching some of the juniors in the class fumble and learn.
