So, I go to the doctor's office on Friday because my knees sound like a rice crispy bomb going off whenever I change elevation. I've always had bad knees and I finally was convinced to go see someone (this was after the attempt to self medicate with glucosamine, etc.)
The doctor took four x-rays in the office and talked to me for about five minutes. The conversation went something like, "Holy crap, you have really bad knees. Which one hurts the worst? The left one? Ok, we'll scope you…

I have had this crap that is going around for 5 days now. I have slept more in the last 5 days than I did in a long time. It is 3:30am and I am wide awake. The only thing saving me is the fact that I am a Landscaper by trade and I am currently laid off. I don't have to be at work tomorrow so that is good. I have missed a couple of calls due to being under the weather. I really hate when that happens. Anybody got any advice for kicking the cold/flu? I have been trying to keep hydrated and eat…

The alarm sounds the call goes out, someone is screaming, someone is scared, someone beilives they are going to die. We scramble to our feet, we know, we are going to meet another person on their very worst day. We will arrive on the scene of their call. Strength and courage thats what we have, going into an unknown. We fight ourselves every day, we get to them, we help them, we take them to a place were more of us wait and pray to help them to live another day. We put…

Why would some want to be a part of your organization? Is there cache like being a Clydesdale pulling the Budweiser Wagon? Or is it something else? We recently brought on several new firefighters and we threw out the conventional wisdom and asked them, what made them chose emergency services.…

The numbness falls over you the moment you know.
You quietly say a prayer,
and wish for every-one to continue on,
not stop and stare.
We know they are dead there's
nothing really we could do,
but we act and we try,
just like we were told in the books we read.
We keep them alive,
if only for a moment to try and preserve whats left
of their drive.
The lights are flashing, the siren is screaming,
the blood is…
