From the I thought I'd seen it all category.
It seems that civil right groups will have another thing to complain about. It appears that police in Australia used a taser to subdue a violent subject, and the man burst into flames.

I guess the next thing we will see is a power setting on these…

I have been reading books on historical figures and great leaders. I find these people fascinating and intriguing. Many of these individuals have been studied on their leadership style and characteristics in great detail. However, the parallels to these great politicians, executives, generals and peace keepers is that they were aware of their surroundings and those around them. They all understood there was a greater cause.
In the fire service, the same can be said about our great leaders.…

Hello Everyone!!
I am updating our annual poster-size calendar for the business that I work for and am looking for some awesome fire pictures.
The calendars are distributed free of charge to all our customers, vendors and other Firefighters in the US and Canada. (Bombarider had allowed us to use one of their photos of a CL-415 Waterbomber for 2009). Whichever photo is chosen, a statement is listed under the photo with the following statement "Photo courtesy of…

HAVE YOU ALWAYS TURNED THE OTHER CHEEK?

THE FIREFIGHTER SQUARD HIS SHOULDERS?
"NO,LORD, I GUESS I AIN'T
BECAUSE THOSE OF US WHO FIGHT FIRE, CAN'T ALWAYS BE A SAINT,
I'VE HAT TO WORK MOST SUNDAYS,AN AT TIMES MY TALK WAS…

Is literally like 2 miles away from my house last night. My brother is a firefighter but just moved about 45 minutes north from me about a month ago. If he was still a firefighter near my house he would of been on scene. He is really bummed that he missed it. Me and my roomate went up the road and were literally 300-400 feet away from the blast and watched for 2 hours. The flames were HUGE! We were so close we were sweating our asses off from the heat. I took some pictures from my phone... the…

Hey guys I recently had an incident of this kind this weekend. Take a look at it and let me know what you would do differently, the same, etc.!!!
We get dispatched for an accident with injuries on a bridge in our still area. Two medics leave the house first in the ambulance (as our SOG says) and myself, an engineer, and two younger fireman respond in our engine. As the engine approaches the bridge we find nothing until we reach the top of the bridge, only to find an accident of…
