ABOUT ME

I love Jesus, music, reading, increasing intelligence, having fun in general, playing on my computer, and movies. Sometimes I think I'm turning into a hermit. Texas bound next year!

Blargh!!

Well I have a week until i get my physical to clear me for active duty. Really no big deal there, except I missed out on a 3 alarm over the weekend. I know ill have more chances later on but i hate sitting on the sidelines not able to respond. from what i saw in the pics afterwards it was rollin' good. well ill keep up on the drill and have to sit tight another week to see the doc.

Saturday 2007-09-29

Nice day for finishing up work around the house, too bad. We had an early accident a block from the firehouse, a car into a church with two injuries and a canyon call. The pics didn't come out too well so no blogs pics...sorry.

The car into the church was slowing down to make a turn and was rear-ended. It went almost straight up a side hill, across the parking lot and into the church wall. Asst chief said it moved the wall several feet.

Expanding theFireWiki...

One of the issues that is consistently brought to my attention with theFireWiki is the issue of copyrights protection. While many people would love to post to theFireWiki, they are hesitant because of the Open License associated with it. The Open License says that

attitudes

Why in a world of war, starvation,and disease do people have to have an attitude over little things. The little things shouldn't get us worked up, but for most of us it does. If we have no more of a life than that we are pretty sad. If we have all this time to nitpick at what everyone says then we need a hobby. So in short we need to do somethng besides complain about little things in this time of sorrow.

I hate sundays!!!!

The city I work for is mostly a business/ technology office complex. Don't quote me on the numbers but we have something like 30,000 people that actually live in the city, but Monday through Friday our city swells to over 300,000 people. With six ALS engine companies, two ALS rescues, and one Truck company the call volume for 30,000 people isn't very high. This might be great for some people, but for me it makes for way to much down time. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy sleeping most nights, but…

Trying to make sense of it all.

3+ months after the fall of 9 brave men in Charleston, South Carolina ..I'm still trying to make sense of it all. I'm angered at the veil of silence. I'm angered at the "good ole boy" system intact in that area.

Perhaps, I shouldn't be here speaking on this but then again I won't let their loss be forgotten.
