hello, i am john beasley i have been a firefighter for 7 years now with the mcminn county fire and rescue dept. i enjoy assisting in all aspects of the fire department. At the county fire department we are all volenteers and i love my department and the community. i am also a police/fire dispatcher have been for 4 years and i enjoy that aspect of emergency services aswell. i am also a paid volenteer for the athens city fire department. i love the feeling of helping someone when they have lost so much in such a little amount of time. I used to say when i grow up i am going to be a fire man but i have given up on the idea of growing up but i do enjoy being a firefighter. i have a wife and 2 kids and a great bunch of guys and girls on the fd that i work with. i love what i do. if i were to give advice to younger firefighters i would say get all the trainning you can get and be safe. use your abilities to benifit yourself your department and your community. Ask not what your community can do for you but what you can do for your community your state and your country.
