hello, i am john beasley i have been a firefighter for 7 years now with the mcminn county fire and rescue dept. i enjoy assisting in all aspects of the fire department. At the county fire department we are all volenteers and i love my department and the community. i am also a police/fire dispatcher have been for 4 years and i enjoy that aspect of emergency services aswell. i am also a paid volenteer for the athens city fire department. i love the feeling of helping someone when they have lost… Continue

Praise the Lord! I hope the new job goes well and you will have more time with your family. I am also considering dropping my on-call job. I haven't had my pager turned on in over a week because I'm trying to help my wife get ready for Christmas and having family coming into town. There seems to be a gentle peace and contentment when I'm not taking off in the middle of dinner or having to go in the middle of the night. I'm praying about it because I will miss the guys and miss some of my ties to the local community. I'll still be working my full time job for a couple more years even though I'm eligible for retirement. As long as I'm still healthy and enjoying the work staying a little longer will boost my pension slightly. Have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year! -rex
