Firefighters appreciated

The purpose of this letter is to commend Battalion Chief Charles Ivey and the crews of the fire stations in Cherryvale, Wedgefield and Shaw Air Force Base for their actions in extinguishing the fire which began on Sept. 12 in the basement of our house in Stateburg.
The firemen arrived promptly, their actions were professional and they prevented the fire from spreading throughout the house. Their responses to my questions were courteous and straightforward — even in the midst of their activity.

A grateful “thank you” is insufficient to express my admiration and appreciation for their outstanding professionalism.

All of Sumter can be justly proud of their firefighting crews.
