Don't wait to tell your friends how much fun they are, or how much you enjoy being around them. It may be too late.

Did I mention to you all that I wear a Silver 3/4 of an inch maltese cross necklace around my neck 24/7/365? If I need some encouragement, I kiss it. If I need some strength, i kiss it. If I need some motivation, i kiss it. If I'm sitting in class fighting through a blue book exam or while sweating bullets and every muscle in my body burns from working out, I kiss it to remind myself that everything I do in my life on a day to day basis is just getting me ready for my future career.

I finally got off my butt and registered for my Fire Officer I examination. It doesn't really mean much yet at work, except that I should be able to ride out of class as a lieutenant after I finish a clearing process at work. I still have one more Fire Officer II class and I have to complete a Business Communications and Macrocomputer Application class to finish out my Fire Officer II AND THEN I'll be eligable to promote to lieutenant.
In other exciting news, I still haven't…

Candidate. Not probie, not rook, not FNG, just candidate. This is the term used for probationary firemen in the chicago fire dept. Why is it important to me, you ask? No, unfortunately, i am not a candidate yet. But "candidate" is my nickname.
I was given this name by engine company 22 of the chicago fire dept(3rd shift). I met these guys about a year and a half ago. Those guys have been a part of my life ever since. Since the past summer I've been actually riding with those guys. I…
ContinueThis week starts off with the Seat Belts across Ontario with the Police.
In Ontario, before Oct. 2006 it's legal to carry more passengers in a vehicle than there are seatbelts as long as all seatbelts are being used and the driver is not inhibited by any of the passengers. This law changed after this fatal minivan crash in Caledon on Oct. 14th 2006.
There where 10 people packed into Ford Windstar minivan is far above normal occupancy where there are only 7 seatbelts. The driver…

To all of those who have known, loved and lost someone in the line of duty, my heart goes out to you. I have been there and it isn't easy at all!!!! Always remember the good things that they did for you and everyone else that they helped. Memories will last forever, as long as you let them!!! God bless everyone!! Take care and stay safe out there!! Just remember one thing, always remember to let your loved one know that you love them and make sure that you tell them to be careful before they…
