Wheel and engine fire simulation that were put to the test at S.A. Emergency Care today. Fuel supply (Jet A1) were extended to both motor and wheel assembly giving a more realistic effect.

I started three months ago making up 1 to 3 page training or safety bulletins and handing them out at our monthly meeting.First one was difference between Class A & B foams and uses.Last month was seatbelt use and this month is going to be on lightweight construction. We are a small volunteer dept. and any training I can get in I can.

Does anyone have any good footage of Apparatus rollovers or accidents? We are working on our Safe Drivers Training Course and would like to show some clips that will hopefully hit home with our guys. We want to dismiss the thought that 'it can't happen to me". We have looked all over You Tube and found a few but if you have something let me know. Thanks and be safe.

Most recently my medical lt and I came up with the idea to use glad press-n-seal wrap over are scba masks when we practice search and rescue. We are working on making a templete to cut out a properly fitting piece or wrap.

Just looking thru the press and seel rap makes it look like you are in very heavy smoke well allowing you to see outlines of objects in rooms that you are in.

Just an idea for any department that likes to train with EMS crews my department has in the past had a mock Deer Hunting accident we used public hunting land and had two hunters injured in the woods and used 2 way radios to locate and treat patients. Its a good training for radio communications as well as using various equipment to retrieve a lost or hurt individual

im a junior but heres a rlly good idea my VFC started just last week its called a window prop its a small structure that is constructed to practice a large arey of things like emergency window bail and other things like the denver drill ext there is almost endless things you can do with this great training device... if anyone is intrested there is a guy on youtube im not sure of his name at this moment but he shows you how to build and many ways to use it... i think if you just type in window prop you can find it but if you cant feel free to send me a message and i will get you the info you need. like say it is a great training device there is so many things you can do with it and most of this stuff every FF should know...

Hey everyone. I am from a small VFD and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for some hands on training? We do the same thing over and over again...it's getting old. Not that Truck knowledge isn't important....just thought I would bring something different to the table.
