"Who Am I?"
My profession is somewhat unique in comparison to that of the average person. At any one fixed moment in time when duty calls upon me, I am prepared to sacrifice my own life to save the lives of others I may not even know. I am willing to do this because I understand that we all make choices in life. As for myself, this is the choice and path of service that I have chosen to follow. 8 days ago our Lifeguard helicopter went down. Onboard was one patient, the pilot, one nurse and one firefighter/paramedic (Cameron). The body of the nurse and the sliding door from the helicopter were found 3 days ago. Still missing, the pilot, the patient and Cameron. The search and rescue was called off yesterday due to continued bad weather and the fact that it has been 8 days since the incident. It is believed that the helicopter might be in water that could be in excess of 600 ft deep.…

Times Square NY

I wish you could know,
I wish you could feel,
But you can't, you never will

We'll never let you see us cry,
Not even our own family.…

Everyone who was alive and old enough when 9-11 happened remember where they were, what they were doing, and how they reacted to the tragedy. I remember I was in my seventh grade science class in Charleston, South Carolina when the principal called all the teachers on the intercom to tell them to turn on the TV. When they did, we all just stared at the TV. At first, we really didn't really know what was happening... until we…
