8 days ago our Lifeguard helicopter went down. Onboard was one patient, the pilot, one nurse and one firefighter/paramedic (Cameron). The body of the nurse and the sliding door from the helicopter were found 3 days ago. Still missing, the pilot, the patient and Cameron. The search and rescue was called off yesterday due to continued bad weather and the fact that it has been 8 days since the incident. It is believed that the helicopter might be in water that could be in excess of 600 ft deep. Winters in Alaska can be harsh. We need the return of everyone out there. Today some of our firefighters are going to Seward, Alaska to help with the recovery search. They will be gone for 2 days and then the next group of our guys will go down for another 2 days in an effort to locate the crash site. Please keep the families, friends, and brothers and sisters in your thoughts and prayers. They are greatly needed and appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read my very first blog ever.
