Drought!!!

Like alot of the Country, it has been a hot, dry summer in TN. We are almost 17" below our normal rainfall for the year. The volunteer fire depts here in Sullivan County are delivering water to farmers for their ponds. Bluff City VFD has made almost 20 deliveries in the last couple of weeks. It's just a matter of time until we start responding to brush fires everywhere. There have been a few in the County, but nothing major. Please keep us in your prayers. If we don't get some rain…

A Fireman's Tears

The alarm rang, as it had so many times before.

He was the first of the fireman up and out,

Awakened from his bed at the station

By the clanging of the bell.

As Engine 3 pulled out of the bay,

Dispatch paged another station.

And all the…

What is a Firefighter?

What is a firefighter?

He's the guy next door....or the girl

He's a guy like you and me with warts and worries and unfulfilled dreams.

Yet he stands taller than most of us.

He's a fireman....

A fireman is at once the most fortunate and the least fortunate of men.

He's a man who saves lives because he has seen too much death.

He's a gentle man because he has seen the awesome power of violence out of control.

He's responsive to a child's…

Just Life.

I finally think that I have a new job, it's not what I wanted to do but it's just my theory. I'm now should consider myself as a professional patient. When I was 18 out of High School I fought Hodgkin's Disease and got to work on the FD which was a great personal accomplishment. However I couldn't finish my career because I was stricken with Kidney Failure. With this Kidney failure I also developed painful cysts on the kidneys and was hospitalized for it.. The hospital o/d me with pain pills… Continue
