SILLY SEASON HAS STARTED

Hi all, Well the silly season is upon us once again. The little bastards have already started to set fires to the scrub around our small country town and the towns arounds us.

Last week we spent a couple of days fighting bush fires along the iron ore rail lines and around the surrounding area's. With temperatures here expected to be constantly in the high 40's to low 50's (celcius that is) it looks like being a very long and hot season for us volunteers.

With cyclone season…

Zaca Fire Pics

So i got home yesterday from the Zaca Fire. 240,000 acre fire the

second biggest in California History. Our Engine Strike team spiked out

at a spike camp and then coyoted out later on. I had a lot of fun, saw

a lot of fire activity we even got rained on with thunder and

lightning. I went 15 days without a shower and maybe 2 days without

eating. I am sure i lost another 20lbs so i should be close to the

Fireman's Wife

When I first met him he was in the academy, I thought how sexy. I'm dating a fireman. My friends were so jealous. When he got on the job I honestly didn't think much of the danger. Once I began watching the news and seeing fires around the city, I had an ache in the pit of my stomach and a pain in my heart. You stop breathing unitl you hear the words that "No fireman were injured".

I never watched the news until I met him. It's my way of knowing he's coming home tonight. I never…

Injuries....

As we grow old we neglect to want to act our age, and so as often happens, injuries occur. But sometimes things could be prevented. In my case of course the only course of prevention would have abstained from horsing around, but it just looked soooo fun!!! The kids get all this cool moon walk stuff, and there never was any of that when we were kids. So when the guy in charge tells ya " Yeah sure, It'll hold adults, go ahead! " I was the leader of the pack! Thru the tubes, over the small hill,… Continue

Just a lil' tid bit about me.

Well I am such a complex person that I am so easy to understand. See what I mean lol. First and formost I LOVE GOD, MY WIFE & KIDS, MY MOM, my family and friends and of course Fire and Rescue. Not much to report..

Well there hasn't been a lot going on since my last blog post but I'm kind of tired of seeing the pic that is at the top so I'd better write something to bump it down some. We've had one call in over a week. A one acre grass fire hardly worth a mention.

Friday night a few of the guys and I got together to eat some campfire food and drink a brew or two. Ten minutes after we opened the first beers the radio started going nuts. About six calls for other departments in the county within…
