I am 31 years old and I am a Wildland Firefighter with the US Forest Service. I graduated High school from Monte Vista in 2000. Went to college for many years not knowing what i wanted to do with my life so i studied everything that interested me (Astrophysics, Computer Science, Computer Networking, Chemistry, Fire Science, Criminal Justice, History) I knew none of those majors would get me what i truly seek except one. I seek adventure, life threatening danger and hard work that is in the outdoors. Firefighting with the Forest Service gives me what i crave. I got hired as an Apprentice with the Forest Service in 2008
Started on an Engine, did a Fire Use Crew last season and i am on Helitack this season(2010)

Hey there! Sorry it bombs your computer, not sure whats going on there? Life is crazy in my world! I am located on the Ca OR border. 30 min from OR. I work on the Klamath. Currently working on the Salmon, Scott ranger district. It is 2 districts in one. It is very steep, but overcome by its beauty. I am a ff, EMT, and working towards a prevention officer. I love what I do and would not trade it for the world. I hope you get the chance to fight a fire here! Most of our fires are in the happy camp area, but we get a few on our district as well. They are mostly fought from air, or jumpers because of the terrain. Whats it like where your at? What forest? Do you like what you do? Are you on a crew? Engine? Got to run. Talk at ya later.................. Delete Comment
