We had only one call last night an MVC right in front of the station, I also got 2 more assessments out of it and got to push my first drug dose Morphine SQ, Only because we could not get a line started and she was in some pain. Only 5 more assessments to go YAY.

Basically, thanksgiving is an American holiday! For us there are lot of things to thank about everything. The month of November will be a significant event for us. Our early completion of monthly payment of our first and very own - dubbed The Alliance Tanker (picture at front page). This is one of our achievement so far since our brigade was conceived last November 2006. We have completed a one-year project for full acquisition of this fire apparatus. We have experience ups and down with…

Tonight I am supposed to run on our medic and being the day after a holiday it makes me wonder how much action we will have tonight, quite frankly I would like a slow night, but at the same time I would like some runs so I can hopefully get all of my assessments done before the deadline of Dec 8th, I would go to the hospitals and do some clinicals but I have noone to watch my daughter during the day. So all I can do is be patient (not one of my best virtues) and let things play out natuarlly.

Thanksgiving has been here and gone, as for my family and I we had a wonderful time. We had fixed a 20lbs bird and made mashed potoatos and green beans, while other family members made the rest of the fixins. We did have a very wonderful time. The other part of the spectrum which was pleasant was we did not have any emergencies in the Township other than a few injury from falls, so our Engine didn't roll until 11:45 last night to a nursing home for a medic assist. So I was able to spend the…

THIS IS DEDICATED TO MY WIFE. WITHOUT HER LOVE AND SUPPORT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BE A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER.
THE TABLE'S SET, THE MEAL'S PREPARED, OUR QUESTS WILL SOON ARRIVE. MY HUSBAND ONCE MORE DISAPPEARS WITH A HOPE OF KEEPING A CHILD ALIVE. WHILE WAITING AT HOME AGAIN ALONE, OUR PLANS HAVING GONE AWRY. MY FIRST IMPULSE IS MERELY TO SIT DOWN AND CRY. BUT SOON AGAIN I REALIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF MY LIFE WHEN AGREED TO TAKE ON THE DUTIES OF BEING A FIREMAN'S WIFE. WHILE THERE ARE…

I WISH YOU COULD SEE THE SADNESS OF A BUSINESS MAN AS HIS LIVELIHOOD GOES UP IN FLAMES OR THAT FAMILY RETURNING HOME, ONLY TO FIND THEIR HOUSE AND BELONGINGS DAMAGED OR DESTROYED.
I WISH YOU COULD KNOW WHAT IT IS TO SEARCH A BURNING BEDROOM FOR TRAPPED CHILDREN, FLAMES ROLLING ABOVE YOUR HEAD, YOUR PALMS AND KNEES BURNING AS YOU CRAWL, THE FLOOR SAGGING UNDER YOUR WEIGHT AS THE KITCHEN BENEATH YOU BURNS.
I WISH YOU COULD COMPREHEND A WIFE'S HORROR AT 3 A.M. AS I CHECK HER…

This Thanksgiving we all have something we are thankful for. Perhaps it's still having a job. Perhaps it's the addition to your family. Perhaps it's bringing your family together for a day of festivities. My family has been one that has been crunched by the economic issues we have all been facing. Construction has been a booming industry in my area and now we are all doing the law of the jungle theory. (survival of the fittest) The true companies with the best quality and good prices are the…

Yesterday, I loss someone close to me. My father," Richie Roberts" passed away in his sleep. I'm lost right now for words to say. But, please say a prayer for my family in our time of need. I know he is going to a better place with god and his soul mate my mom-Meddie. He lived a great life of 79 yrs. Born Jan. 18th, 1929. He served on the volunteer fire dept. of Ft. Montgomery Dept. 4. in the 60's. Dad was proud to serve all of us. That is one of the reasons I became a volunteer fireman to…

Note: For some reason, I posted this a few minutes ago and the post disappeared into the blogosphere. If for some reason it pops up in duplicate, someone please point it out (if I haven't seen it) and I'll delete it. Nothing like identical blog entries to ruin your credibility. That should be a warning to some of you out there.
Inspired by the personal blogs of some of you (and seeing that even Webchief has his own personal blog), I have created my own blog,…

I have to say its funny that the day before the new rule is to take effect my state's fire marshall starts saying that our bunker gear is all we need. This after everyone has ran all over trying to get their hands on the new vests. I was always told that the state could not over ride a rule that NFPA has set. So what is right? We already have the vest and will use them so that we are all a little safer. But when it comes down to it when you have rubber neckers no one is ever safe, watch your…
