About Me:
A volunteer firefighter for more than 14 years, loved serving others and making a difference in our area.
I volunteered to some units around the city and then finally home and finally went back were I've started.

I've wished this will be my professional career. But because of our Fire / EMS situation - no national law yet, no standard in EMS. So the salary is very low not enough to give a decent living to a family. So I just pursue my present career in I.T. industry but still continue to play active role in EMS in my volunteer capacity.
Day Job:
I.T. Specialist
Relationship Status:
Married

Why I Love Fire/EMS

Top Issues Facing Responders:
EMS Law still on-hold in congress
no ICS protocol - still in inception phase.
Government Fire Department and Volunteer units fire ground conflict.

EMS Law in the Philippines ....Soon a reality

Posted on March 23, 2010 at 6:30am 0 Comments

After 12 years of waiting, the Emergency Medical Service Law will be soon a reality. As I look around yesterday on the net. I've stumble upon some links from our Congress that they have published a third and final reading of this new law, with it some news releases links I've found. Finally! As a country more prone to natural disaster like recently the "big flood" because of typhoon Ketsana last September last year, and a new threat - terrorism. It's about time to uplift the standard of our… Continue

It's Day-FIVE since Last Saturday on that fateful day Sept. 26, 2009. Water subsided slightly. My house still flooded and with no electrical power. Unlike other areas at due east and north of our city. Water flood are gone but they are starting cleaning their community.

Relief operation still on-going and out Fire Tanker its rear tires were busted and needs for replacement. It was worned out because of rescue / relief operation since DAY - ONE, stepping on debris or rocks. Our chief… Continue

July 16, 1990, Pasig Catholic College, Pasig City, Philippines at approximately 4:00 pm. I was in 4th year high school back then, all of the seniors have left home already and as a cadet officer assigned as a COD - (cadet officer of the day) and waiting until 5pm to lower the school flag and looking forward to go home. When I was going down the stairs then I've heard a ringing and felt a dizzy sensation then I realize it was an earthquake. I ran downstairs in a heartbeat because I was almost at… Continue

Resolving fire ground issues

Posted on February 3, 2009 at 10:30pm 7 Comments

Fire ground conflict in the Philippines was a all time issue plague the career vs. volunteer units for a long time. Volunteer units which is approximately 70 % more than the gov't counterpart - majority of which in the national capital region which is Metro Manila. Although, we get the job done most of the time. Fighting fire side by side with our career counterparts has the cold and uneasy feelings is still there. But the question of efficiency, liability, dormant resources, injuries, and… Continue
