Sher Kares ~PREDATOR FREE~ Tip #4

Sher Kares ~PREDATOR FREE~ Safety Tip 4

Welcome back to this our 4th Sher Kares PREDATOR FREE Safety Tip.

Tonight I'm going to make this tip short and to the point.

I know that each of you love your children, there's no doubt in my mind about that. As parents we're proud to show off our children to our friends and associates.

I am stunned, that daily I get numerous offers of assistance with the war we are fighting, and then I look at some of the… Continue

Fire Captain / EMT III

What a great site and an excellent resource for all kinds of challenges and training. I think my most challenging fire was when it was 25 below zero. We had to leave the nozzles open just a little bit so our hoses wouldn't freeze. We still had them freeze, we had to use flares to thaw out the couplings and bring them back to the station on a…

Code 3

If anyone collects fire trucks, rescues, towers, ladders, check out this site:

http://code3.net/

Right now, they have The Super Pumper System (FDNY)on sale. The set includes the Super Pumper, Super Tender, and Sattelite Trucks.

The trucks have a lot of detail and look exactly like the actual trucks.

My flag goes again to half-mast...

I would ask all my friends to observe a moment of reverent silence for the ex-Laceyville, PA firechief, his wife, and daughter who lost their lives in a brutal murder in their own home, and also for their family who will feel this more acutely than we do. We as firefighters expect loss. Loss on scene of victims and brothers to this beast we all fight that we know as death. Loss to old age of friends and family who have lived full, healthy lives. Loss to tragedy as a result of the heinous…

Watching The Numbers

This whole FirefighterNation thing is pretty intriguing. The network forming already is phenomenal. I was early to the party but late for the initial opening of the whole Firehouse Forums and couldn't believe the unbelievable response to that. I think Dave may have hit another homer here with the numbers of people coming in already. The whole social side was really what seemed to drive the forums, even though there were quite a number of us that were really in it from the beginning to get…

Dont worry Rudy...we won't forget!

Many people consider Rudy Giuliani “America’s Mayor,” and many fire fighters who don’t yet know the real story, may also have a positive view of him. All fire fighters should be aware of the egregious acts Mayor Giuliani committed against our fallen on…

Firefighters Gloves

Firefighter's Gloves hold many things, from elderly arms to a kids broken swing, From the hands they shake and the backs they pat, to the tiny claw marks of another treed cat. At 2 am they are filled with the chrome, from the DWI who was on her way home. And the equipment they use to roll back the dash, from a family of 6 she involved in the crash. The brush rakes in Spring wear the palms out, when the wind does a "90" to fill them with doubt. The thumb of the glove wipes the sweat from the… Continue
