The other night we had a call for possible structure fire in our district.Well usually when we have a fire other districts show up for tanker support and what not. after about 30 minutes if hunting for an access to this fire we found a man burning trash in a sinkhole. I don't know about you all out there but I am sick of these B.S. runs that waste our time and resources because the public is too lazy to call in a controlled burn! How many others have to put up with this on a daily basis like us?

Well it was a very long night in Operations. Even cops who dont like firefighters had the dignity to put aside their petty feelings and realize that but for the Grace of God we go. But listening to the job on the radio and following along on CAD, one could not help but feel sick to the stomach. As I commented, we heard the ladder companies on the roof and knew they were in trouble. Things went south in a matter of minutes.
Then to watch it on local media and realize that these silly…

The 2 Fire Fighters killed in the tragic West Roxbury fire may have been caught in a flashover. Reports are being confirmed that one Fire Fighter's bunker coat was burned off him. They were operating a line inside the building and were with the 1st due companies. More as I get it.

As I put my mourning band on my badge this afternoon, I sat and thought
of the events ahead of me. I have two funerals to attend in as many
days. I silently prayed that God would give me the strength to be His
strong and faithful ambassador in these trying situations. They are
both equally hard even though they are very different. The first will
be for a barely 18 year old Firefighter who I have never met. His life
was cut short before it had really started. He was…

As you all know I have been chasing fires all my life. Tonight I witnessed a 4 alarm fire in West Roxbury that killed 2 Boston Fire Fighters. I'm not ashamed to say I cried right then and there when I saw the District Chief, Paramedics and brother Fire Fighters working feverishly to save them. While others snapped photos or pushed closer to get video, I walked away and could not bring myself to take any more photos. I took 1 photo and then realized what was happening. That photo I feel is…

Two Boston Firefighters were killed and four others injured in a 4 alarm fire at 1727 Center Street in West Roxbury about 9:15pm Wednesday night. The fire started in the Hi Ho Thai restaurant and extended into a dog grooming parlor next door.
The fire spread rapidly and a 2nd alarm was ordered shortly after the first arriving companies. A partial roof collapse occurred causing an air conditioning unit to fall into the building. All companies were…

"Station 1, Motor Vehicle Collision on Main and 1st, two patients."
The tones drop and I'm grabbing my coat as I'm tripping out the door. I've never been to a motor vehicle collision, and I'm giddy with excitement. I start up the truck and beg my partners to hurry. I want to be first on scene.
We arrive and I see that we are nowhere near the first on scene. Blue lights from the police mingle with the red from the fire engines, and I feel a migraine fast approaching. I grab the giant…

All I can say to every Firefighter/EMT out there is GOD bless you!!! No one knows what we go through in our line of work until they have walked in our shoes. Each call we face can either make or break us!! And some are more difficult to handle than others. I learned about this site from a friend & I am proud to be a part of it! I have not been able to perform my calling due to medical issues with my knee but am hoping to be able to step back in soon. Each one in this field has a heart of…
