Personal Reflections on West Roxbury Fire

As you all know I have been chasing fires all my life. Tonight I witnessed a 4 alarm fire in West Roxbury that killed 2 Boston Fire Fighters. I'm not ashamed to say I cried right then and there when I saw the District Chief, Paramedics and brother Fire Fighters working feverishly to save them. While others snapped photos or pushed closer to get video, I walked away and could not bring myself to take any more photos. I took 1 photo and then realized what was happening. That photo I feel is important but again that was all I could emotionally handle. My thoughts and prayers are with the 2 Firefighters, their families, friends and with all the members of the Boston Fire Department. This will be a night forever forged in my memory. To my friends here that do this dangerous job, STAY LOW and STAY SAFE!!!!

Steve You are an asset to the brothers and i am glad to have you as a friend. It is hard to handle when we loss fellow brothers when we do the job that we love to do.To be a fire fighter you have to have it in the blood.Times like this is when it really shows because we must never forget the lost brothers but there is always another fire ragging in the city.It is ok to cry that is the emotional side of us as for everyone else sees us as strong invincible people.

Stephen, I'm a long ways away in North Dakota and I"m praying for the firefighters in Boston and all their families and you. We are all a big family in a small world.
