Joing Firefighter Nation

I am joining Firefighternation although I am currently not a firefighter. I am in the hiring process with a few departments in my area. I am REALLY hoping I get hired here soon, because I'm tired of testing.

Chills!

A drunk man in an Oldsmobile

They said had run the light

That caused the six-car pileup

On 109 that night.

When broken bodies lay about

"And blood was everywhere,"

"The sirens screamed out eulogies,"

For death was in the air.

"A mother, trapped inside her car,"

Was heard above the noise;

Her plaintive plea near split the air:

"Oh, God, please spare my boys!"

She fought to loose her pinned hands;

"She struggled to…

!Yield!

The driver with his foot pressing down hard on the pedal, my arm tugging again and again at the air horn chain, as you fail to yield the right-of-way at an intersection or in traffic. When you need us however, your first comment upon our arrival will be, "It took you forever to get here!"

The Early History of Fire Departments

The Roman emperor Augustus is credited with instituting a corps of fire-fighting vigiles (“watchmen”) in 24 bc. Regulations for checking and preventing fires were developed. In the preindustrial era most cities had watchmen who sounded an alarm at signs of fire. The principal piece of fire-fighting equipment in ancient Rome and into early modern times was the bucket, passed from hand to hand to…

Blogging....

So I haven't been blogging very much. I thought I'd blog more often, but it seems that I either don't have the time to blog, or can't find anything to blog about. How often is a person supposed to blog anyway? Is there a limit? Are there blog monitors who watch over these things?

I know I promised to blog about something more constructive this time. Well, sue me, I blied, sorry. Perhaps next time will be the time.

Blogging at 0115 hours

This whole thing is so intriguing that I've sat up since midnight trying to figure it all out. It's a brave new world, all of this electronic chatter. Oh well, I think it would be smart to go catch a little bit of sleep before the next call, or at least so I can function while watching the kids tomorrow.

I made a Boo Boo

Hi all,

I made a mistake and accidentally deleted some of my friends. Age must be catching up to me! Anyways, please check your friend's lists and see if I inadvertantly deleted you.

Stay safe and stay low!
