God bless everyone involed in the i-35W disaster.

As efforts change focus from rescue to recovery, I wanted to take a minute and say thank you to all that have helped. You have all shown that you are the best at what you do and you make us all very proud!!

Rescue work is very rewarding and often gets great exposure as news crews catch every move on tape and family and friend watch close by. Don't get me wrong I know the stress levels are high and the risk is great but, there is nothing like the reward of safely bring a victim to a loved one.

However, recovery work is not so rewarding and we all need to offer extra support and prayer to those working in the recovery efforts as they continue.

Recovery work is not in the spot light normally. In most cases, no one is waiting for you and the recovered body except the local coroner. The stress levels of workers are very high, often causeing sick humor to come out as a mode of defense against the stress and depression.

Rescue worker have adrenalin to help protect their minds from what they see and feel. Recovery workers don't get much of an adrenalin rush, leaving them to feel every effect of what they see and touch. There is no switch to turn the brain on or off. So please remember to give that extra support to our brothers and sisters as they deal with a very tough situation.

The mighty Mississippi River is very dangerous and always changing. Water work above and below the surface requires a great deal of focus and skill. We are very lucky to have the people we need in this country always on stand by to serve!!

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL THOSE BROTHERS AND SISTERS THAT RISK THERE LIVES EVERYDAY FOR THOSE IN NEED. kEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
