This brings me to the night of December 27, 1983. I was a pretty new firefighter. At 20:23 hours, a full assignment was dispatched to North Division & Grosvenor streets. In these days between Christmas and New Years, nothing ever seems to get done. FDNY firefighters were put to the test on December 21, 2007 when they faced an apartment fire with civilians inside.
