Sitting here bored at Station 75....nothin to do...sitting here with my dad hes working 24 shift on the ambulance. They have only had one call and it was a DOA. Have to work tomorrow and my birthday is Tuesday. Have a standby at Station 42 on Saturday so I might go to that. Nothin else really to report other than that....Talk to ya later.

Call it a pet peeve but why is doing the right thing at the right time so hard for so many, especially the "Old Guys". That being said I have been in the fire service since I was 18. ContinueThis morning i was laying in my bed and could not fall asleep. At about 2:20 am my fire pager went off and scared the shit out of me. We need to step back and look at how we determine who becomes a Fire Chief! Somehow the practice of his dad was or he has been here the longest or he just plain sucked the right persons ass has got to go!! We are killing our firefighters left & right! There has got to be a way to insure the most qualified are put in this position. Not who scores the highest on a stupid test or who is freinds with who!!
