Breakdown

Wednesday night. Second duty section of the week.

I'd hoped to get to the ambulance building, execute my little side job cleaning it, and whip out some tripsheets before any tones dropped. That is, after I had a leisurely supper that I'd pick up on the way in.

What is the saying, man schemes, and God laughs?

As I was making my final approach to town from work at about 17:25, tones. Patient to be transported directly from a Dr.'s office to a hospital 65 miles away. I step on it…

Time of year

This is the time of the season where you get together with friends and family and share the time with everyone around and thank God for the time we spend healthy and upright. We also take time to share a moment for all those who have passed before and what they have taught us and shared with us while they were upright. Pass on the tradition and share the knowledge that has been taught. If we lose that knowledge it will never be returned. Have a great holiday season and STAY SAFE EVERYONE!!!!

Just another day? Fire Department grants dying wish to little boy.

So I got to thinking about posting something that wasn't a nag session about seatbelts, or that really had anything to do with firefighter safety, per se. (thanks Mick for the inspiration) I think I'd just like to express my thoughts about what the Fire Service, in particular the volunteer fire service does, around the holidays.

For those of you "Catlicks", of which I'm one, the Holidays are a celebration of our Savior's birth. Has the celebration become too commercial? In my mind,…

A firefighters nite before xmas

The Fire Fighter's Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the town,

The fire siren echoed blaring its sound.

The firefighters came running from far and from near,

And raced to the trucks quickly donning their gear.

Down at the corner of Fifth and of Oak,

The dispatcher informed us of a house filled with smoke.

Smoke poured… Continue
