I love being on a Volunteer fire department. It has given me an opportunity to serve in my community in a unique way. Firefighting is not for everyone. I just wish I would have known how much fun it was alot sooner in my life.

The requirements in Mississippi are going up too. Vol Cert 1 (minimum for fighting structure fires) is going to like 70 hrs. Up from 48 hrs. I am afraid that these are going to discourage new folks from getting involved because of the time that is involved in training.

THE VOLUNTEERS FOR THE STATE OF COLORADO NEED A MINIMUM OF 36 HOURS OF TRAINING PER YEAR SO THEY CAN COLLECT THEIR PENSION AFTER THEY DID THEIR TIME. SO ANY OTHER DEPT. TRAINING IS ADDED IN TO THE OVER ALL TRAINING THAT THEY DO.

THE STATE OF GEORGIA IS MAKING IT HARDER & HARDER TO BE A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER THEY WANT US TO HAVE TO SAME AMOUNT OF TRAINING AS A PAID FIREFIGHTER I DONT THINK ITS RIGHT

This mess with medications can be a problem with people and what their doctors are ready to give them. I had a doctor give me a prescription to help me with my sinus problem and ended up with high blood pressure.
My mother never feels right with her medications and always ready to call her doctor to complain that they are making her sick
