We had only one call last night an MVC right in front of the station, I also got 2 more assessments out of it and got to push my first drug dose Morphine SQ, Only because we could not get a line started and she was in some pain. Only 5 more assessments to go YAY.

Tonight I am supposed to run on our medic and being the day after a holiday it makes me wonder how much action we will have tonight, quite frankly I would like a slow night, but at the same time I would like some runs so I can hopefully get all of my assessments done before the deadline of Dec 8th, I would go to the hospitals and do some clinicals but I have noone to watch my daughter during the day. So all I can do is be patient (not one of my best virtues) and let things play out natuarlly.

Thanksgiving has been here and gone, as for my family and I we had a wonderful time. We had fixed a 20lbs bird and made mashed potoatos and green beans, while other family members made the rest of the fixins. We did have a very wonderful time. I have passed my finals test in medics class now all I need to do is make up a Lab Exam today, and try to get my last 7 patient assessments by Dec 8th. Definitely not sweating those items. I ended up with a score of an 82 on the exam and depnding on my lab exam today my final class score could be anywhere from 84 to 86.

Well I have sorta made it through, Just have to do a make up lab on Monday but that shouldn't be to hard. The only thing that sucked was I only have 3 patient assessments in and the way I took it (My misunderstanding) was that you should try to have 10 done but if not it would throw you behind. well now I need to get 7 more by the 8th of Dec or I will get an incomplete for the class. Well we had a review for our medics final this Friday, but then I have to do a make up lab on Monday but that I am not worried about, of course I am not to worried about the final but then again I am just a little. I know all I have to do is study and I should be ok. I will hopefully know by Monday if I passed the Final and the class.

Just got the new Nickelback CD and it is awesome. I think I have lstened to it like 4 times already LOL

Last night while on the medic we had a call where I was able to start an IV and although it took 2 trys I got my first patent Iv started, all this while the medic was in motion, It totally was cool getting it done, now for the medic class I only need 24 more sticks (whew)

Just a quick note for anyone just wanting to get a little extra training at home on the computer, Fire engineering.com has a thing called " training minutes" that have some pretty good content in them.

I sent my extra credit paper by e-mail back to the instructor tonight and already got a reply back from him, I did get the 5 bonus points. so my exam 3 final score was an 85%.

Well today is just starting out peachy.... LOL I got off of my medic shift, running with a new crew and different medic in our twp. and so far this crew kicks butt we had a great time, only 1 call. But I did get at least an attempt at a needle stick trying to start an IV, low an behold the vein rolled on me, Next time LOL I get home and check the school web site and found out I got an 80% on exam 3 with the possiblity of making 5 more points with an extra credit assignment thats due by finals.

Last night at around 9PM we got called out for a chimney fire, County Deputy said flames out of the stack but that was all he seen.When we get there the owner still had a fire in his fireplace so we extinguished it removed all the burnt logs and ash, and then peered up the flue. At that time all it was doing was smoldering at the smoke box area, come to find out the owner did spray some water at the chimney. Well I just recieved an e-mail from the EMS secretary stating I now have permission to register for the winter quarter class thats next in the paramedic program, and I have now been registered as this is written. I am still waiting for the 3rd exam results though.

Just waiting til the new Nickelback CD is released on the 18th, Like anyone really cares :-) they have some really great tunes and I usually find myself being able to study better with thier music on.

Just got back from my Final Lab practice session, all about airway and respiration. Got to try a new technique, nasal intubation, wow that is pretty cool. I will be studying the lab book all weekend and trying to get ready for the test Monday morning. Still waiting on the 3rd exam results and will update that when he sends them out.

Glad that exam 3 is done and hopefully he will get the results tonight, he ran (litterally Ran ) the tests over to the main campus well before the 2 pm deadline. I feel ok with this one not overly excited about having a super grade but I am sure I passed this one ( I Hope LOL). I will post an update when I have the score later tonight.

I have not been able to be on much this past weekend due to studying for our next exam and trying to get caught up with the reading assignments. The next exam is this Wednesday and then I have a lab practise on Thursday, Lab test on Monday.
