WTFD lost one of our own RIP Brother

Members of the Washington Township Fire Department are mourning the death of Firefighter Jason W. Kirby. Firefighter Kirby died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at his home.
Jason was first hired by Washington Township in August 1991. He served the fire department and the community in many capacities, including part-time firefighter, emergency medical technician and assistant fire instructor. He was a member of Ohio-Task Force 1 Urban Search & Rescue Team.
He was an active member and officer of the Washington Township Firefighters Association and coordinated numerous Ice Cream Socials and Fire Department Appreciation Dinners. In addition, he was an advisor to the Washington Township Fire Explorers Post 3369. Jason could always be counted on to contribute his time and abilities whenever and wherever he was needed.
Jason was employed full-time by Lion Apparel as Regional Sales Manager.
In honor of Firefighter Kirby, the flag will be lowered at Station 42 until Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at sundown. Black bunting will also be displayed on the station sign and black badge covers may be worn by fire personnel until that time.
Funeral arrangements are as follows: the viewing will be Monday, December 14 at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 7001 Far Hills Ave from 4-8 pm. The funeral will also be at Southminster Presbyterian Church on Tuesday at 10 am. Recognizing that employees may be interested in expressing their condolences, further details regarding the opportunity to do so will be forthcoming.
