Last night at around 9PM we got called out for a chimney fire, County Deputy said flames out of the stack but that was all he seen. When we get there the owner still had a fire in his fireplace so we extinguished it removed all the burnt logs and ash, and then peered up the flue. At that time all it was doing was smoldering at the smoke box area, come to find out the owner did spray some water at the chimney. His Stake was so full of creosote it was amazing the whole stake wasn't ablaze, the time we got done and even with our best efforts we still messed up his house some with dust and ash. To beat it all after we had started cleaning up he wanted to know if he could now use his fireplace again, Crazy, we told him not til he gets it clean.
