Is faster than a speeding bullet
Walks on water
Gives policy to God.

Leaps short buildings in a single bound
Is more powerful than a switch engine
Is just as fast as a speeding bullet
Walks on water if the sea is calm
Talks with God.

It was his dream
To do what he loved
To fight fires
And save the lives of children
He’s now in heaven
Looking down on all the ones that he’s saved
His family his crew
He will always keep them…

Day after day
Fire after fire
You stand tall
You hear it all
There always asking you why
Why you do what you do
You’re a female
You should be home
But what they…

Two of my three daughters started back to school yesterday, which leaves me alone for at least the morning hours with the youngest, Honora (she's 15 months old). Emma, my oldest, said to me that I must be sad because I don't go back to school anymore. Of course I told her, I go to school now just as much as I used to, but I didn't want to say, not everyone I work with does though. When you get to be the chief, do you keep going back to school? When you're the Director of the Task Force, have…

We dogded the Dean, but this time Guvnr Goodhair pulled the trigger a little soon and had all the USAR Task forces sitting in harms way if it had come this way. I guess he's paying for all the Statewide mutual aide that's been sitting for 5 days waiting. A lot of unneccessary miles on fire trucks. Maybe he'll wait just a little longer next time.
Our good buddy FEMA Admin pulled his triggers as well, and now can prove that his improvements to the organization work! All in place and…

This our 2007 Freightliner E-ONE that we got on a grant a few months back. This truck has really helped our department tremendously. Before if we had a structure fire we would have to put our fans and other equip on our brush trucks. The engine we had was a 1962 boardman tanker. It had no storage whatsoever. This truck saves precious time just in the fact all of our equip is already onboard.…

This article is about one of our locals that was at the 9/11 Trade Center. It's a great article about a great team and it talks about their training as well.
