Caller: I heard what sounded like gunshots coming from the brown

house on the corner.

Caller: No, I have on a blouse and slacks, why?

Caller: Someone broke into my house and took a bite out of my ham

and cheese sandwich .

The table's set, the meal's prepared, our guests will soon arrive.

My husband once more disappears with a hope of keeping a child alive.

While waiting at home again alone, our plans having gone awry.

My first impulse is merely to sit down and cry.

But soon again I realize the importance of my life,

VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS

Who are Volunteer Firefighters? They are your neighbor, the " guy/girl next door " They are husband, father or son, wife, mother or daughter They are the laborer, the store owner, the corporate executive, They are the jogger, sportsfan, hobbyist or handyman.... They are just like everyone else, save for one quality... They are one in one thousand who will risk their life to save yours; You'll see them waiting for the train and at the little league game, You'll see…

acting with courage and honor
and every ounce of heart.

Well Christmas and New Years have come and gone like a bad date for me, don’t get me wrong I like the holidays but, for some reason god likes to watch me fix cars on holidays for example this xmas I replaced coil packs, an EGR valve, wires, plugs, upper and lower ball joints (those suck), and its still not running right, that’s not even the worse part. Xmas morning at 1:30am we get dinged for mutual aid on a house…

I'd like to hear from other "members" who are interested in writing...perhaps a book they've always had in their head or just short stories or stories of incidents they's experienced on-the-job as a fireman, Police officer or EMT...anything at all really...

Everybody has a "war story" to tell and it's fun to hear these...some exciting, some sad and many of them funny as hell.

I use upoc, first alert network, and incident paging system to monitor emergnecy incidents in Western PA.
