Fire Expo in Atlanta

I have been in the fire service almost 20 years and I have never been to something so big.

I bet you could fit 6 football fields inside the expo center there in Atlanta and all of that area was filled with fire fighting equipment and information for the fire and ems service.

I would recommend that everyone try to go to the IAFC- Expo at least once in a life time. You should know that it was totally free if you signed up in advance and it was well worth it.

LOCAL FIREFIGHTER

My father was a firefighter, he drove a big red truck, And when he'd go to work each night, he'd say, "Mother wish me luck". Then Dad would not come home again, 'til sometime the next day,

But the thing that bothered me most, was the things some folks would say. A fireman's life is easy, he eats and sleeps and plays,

And sometimes he don't fight a fire for days and days and days.

When I first heard these comments, I was too young to understand Cause I knew, when people had trouble… Continue

When God Made EMTS

When God made EMTs

When the Lord made EMTs, he was into his sixth day of

overtime when an angel appeared and said,

"You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one,"

And the Lord said,

"Have you read the specs on this order?

An EMT has to be able to carry an injured person up a wet, grassy

hill in the dark, dodge stray bullets to reach a dying child unarmed, enter

homes a health inspector wouldn't touch, and not wrinkle their… Continue

Ten Seconds With God

Ten Seconds With God

Ten seconds is a very long time

When that’s all you have to live

Time enough to make your peace

But not enough to give…

To give your honey one more kiss

To squeeze her oh so tight

To give your kids assurance that

Everything will be all right

From the moment I began this job

I’ve prepared for this day

So now, as He calls me home

It seems I know the way

Kaboom, kaboom, kaboom, kaboom

Like a freight… Continue

Mva.

Yesterday we got called to a 2 car mva with traler with a roll over. when we got there it was only a traler with one of those out side wood stoves that can heat your house. The driver of the truck pulling it ran the stop sign and the state DOT truck hit it there was some fluids. No injures.
