Good day do all my fellow truckies! Im currently on a department that has pretty much 0% of experience with a truck. So they bought a 75' Sutphen. I enjoyed the hell out it because, coming from a heavily populated area and being on a truck company for 15 years, my chief only allowed me to climb the stick to the tip. I did it over the lake, oh what a beautiful feeling! I felt at home again!

I first became a truckie back in the early 80's. My department had a ladder truck with only a driver. A new chief changed that. We brought in a Captain from Tucson Arizona to teach us how to be a truck company. I had a young captain that drilled us on truck ops and he would pull a drill on us when we got back from a call. When I became a captain and was assigned to the truck, I continued this training opportunity. My first truck was a 60's model ALF 85' midmount. My last truck was a 95' E-One platform. I was promoted to BC and missed the truck. Our department started going all quint and the truck company is not what it should be. Cut a roof, what is that now?

Good to see this here. I am the Driver/operator of our 95ft Aerial Cat. She is old but she is sweet. We just worked her for 6hrs at a condo fire and she ran perfect. Been with my dept for 18yrs and enjoy it. Love the trucks. You all be safe out there.

What's up Y'all?? Sending a hello from Western New York...I'm a truck Catain of a Vollie department. We run a new 75' Rosenbaour Quint on a Spartan Gladiator Evolution. We were lucky enought to revieve a Fire Act grant to support the majority of our new unit. It replaces a 1975 100' ALF stick. She was a work horse...

I am Truck Officer on a 1987 LTI 75' straight stick rear mount with a prepiped water way. She's old but still truckin' and we love every bit of her. We know her reverse lights don't work and her speedometer reads that she is going 35 mph at all times even when parked or in reverse. We know that her left turn signal sticks in the on the position sometimes and that when you use her air horn, it bleeds off the brakes. We know these and even more of her problems, but we love her anyway and we are honored that we are allowed to be a part of her history. We are scheduled to get a new piece with the next grant, but whether or not that happens or not...we are still happy to be her escort to each and every dance.
