About Me:

Fire and EMS service is in my family. My Dad, Mom, Sister, and brother all have been firefighters and EMT's. I have been a firefighter for about 7 years, but just decided in the past year that I want to make a career out of it. I just graduated from Wilson Fire/Rescue Academy, and plan on finishing up my Fire Protection Tech. degree.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I thrive off of the feeling I get from helping people. I remember how proud I was that my parents helped people. I think that I can be a difference maker for my community and for the fire service by doing all I can to make it safer.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

Rapidly changing world with constantly evolving technologies. We have to be in a perpetual state of training to keep up with all the changes. Also, the fires we face aren't the fires our Grandfathers- or even our fathers- faced when they went in. Building contents and building materials are leading to extremely hot fires. That coupled with our better gear, we have to be careful not to get in too deep and get ourselves in trouble.
