We're a wide spot on the road, and only have one stoplight... The town was originally incorporated as "One Horse, MT" it got named Florence after a mayor's daughter... Today we've got a Fire Board, School Board and Park Commission... No Mayor, City Council or Police Department...
Eight engines are now parked in a brand spanking new Fire Station. Half the crew are EMS qualified and we spend most of the winter months pulling folks out of wrecks, spring is wildfire time and summers we back up the USFS on government land all around the Bitterroot Valley.
Our district includes part of Missoula and Ravalli counties... with completely different ideas about burning permits and how much authority a local fire board holds...
It's an interesting place for a first time volunteer Fire/EMS trainee...

Hey there from Eatonton, GA home of Brer Rabbit and Alice Walker.
More medical calls than anything around here.
Putnam County houses 2 Full Time (Career) Stations, One Full time Station in the city of Eatonton, and several Volunteer Stations divided between "Southside" and "Northside".
Not much goes on here...lol

Hey everyone, glad to find the group.... I work out of Lakeshore Fire Dept. Station 1 in Lakeshore On. Canada, on the shore of Lake St. Clair. We are an amalgamated town made up of a bunch of smaller Townships that used to be their own deal... We have 5 Stations in total covering 500 square kilometers including a huge stretch of Canada's busiest highway...the infamous 401. Station 1 runs 1 Engine, 1 Rescue and 1 Ladder with a roster of about 23. Lakeshore Fire in total has a roster of 100 FF's...all paid on call. 3 Full Time Chiefs and 5 District Chiefs...and the DC's are paid on call as well.....
