Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations: Worked EMS for a short time but quickly realized it takes a different type of crazy to do that work! But atleast I have the knowledge.

About Me:: A family man who married his Highschool sweetheart and still married to her! Two awsume boys growing up to fast. We live in a small town in Mid-Michigan where i grew up. I joined the Department at 18 and I still like to do the hot, dirty work! My family supports the Fire Department and will do most anything to help me out. My wife and I work together at the family busniess, Ace Hardware. We're hoping our boys get out this shrinking town and do better things! Times are tough here and the City is nothing what it used to be. We struggle to keep the Departments funded and operating at a safe level. We have 1 Department and cover only 4-5 sq miles, we have 15 members that work like 30! We average 125 runs a year, mostly fires. We do not run medicals, thankfully! We are paid on call which amounts to alittle spending money every 3 months. We have gone through some internal struggles but have recently emerged victorious. We have a great staff and things are once again running smooth.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: Not sure, probly for the excitment. Worked near the station and would always see them going out. Now I can't imagine not doing it, although the Chief role is wearing me down.

Why I Love Fire/EMS: Love helping the community and teaching it to the kids.
