welllllllllllllll LOL I currently have 2 sets with me. 1 is an ISI that I am trying to find an insert for my glasses. Second one is a draeger. It has an insert and a set of lenses that fit my RX. However I cannot figure the damn thing out. It is making a hissing noise like I am loosing air somewhere and beat the heck out of me where it is from. If anyone has any ideas please help. It is a airboss evelotion. Blue harness on it if that helps. I really would love to be aloe to use this one for I would love to be able to see and breathe. This is the only draeger we have and it would be real easy for me to figre out which one was mine in fast manner. Thanks TCSS

We have MSA's right now they are great, the only problem is the PASS devices and air level readout in the mask eats batteries. On a side note my favorite tank is Draggers. Their is already several threads on this topic if you want to use the search tool to find them.

We use Scott 4500's. I really dont have any problems with them. They are a real solid pack, they dont use up bats real quick, The integrated pass and heads up display in the mask are both great.

We currently use all Scott 2.2 but we're demo'ing other brands, so far we've demo'ed Draeger and MSA. I've used Draeger and MSA in the past and so far out of all the demo units we've tried I like the Draeger the best.
Chad,
Check the regulator, the evolution model regulator is basically two parts a spring and a diaphram. Take the rubber cover off and inspect the diaphram for cracks or tears. One con to the evolution version is if water isn't allowed to drain out of the regulator housing during cold weather it will freeze and over time could lead to damage.
If that isn't the problem check all the quick disconnects. If I remember correctly the rest of the fittings on this model are pressed connections. Let me know if this helps.

Scott 2.we just got these ones with the integrated PASS devices and we are changing the batteries every 3-4 months.

We use the ISI Dxl (1st Gen) The electronics in these packs create a lot of feedback on our radios. Essentially its so bad that we bypass the voice amplifier and move the radio to solve the problem. This somewhat defeats the purpose of upgrading to the Dxl. ISI needs to do some more work on their comms system, its proved unreliable, hence dangerous, on several incidents. On the other hand they do have some nice features; the airswitch, heads-up display, and buddy breather system are well laid out. Its generally a nice pack but could use some improvements.

We use the Scott NXG2. They are great packs but they are heavier than the last ones we had. Oh, and the wisdom of the NFPA has determined that the 2 year old NXG2 SCBA are obsolete. So now we have to look at upgrading again. This will be another $7 million project. Have I ever said I dislike the NFPA? Well, I meant loathe the NFPA.

Phillip, we use Scott Nexgens with 4500 psi bottles. We were actually the first in Oregon to get these a few years back. We are extremely happy with them. The need for use of the batteries makes me want to buy stock in Duracell but thats ok. When we get our new truck later this year we will be purchasing another 10 for mounting on it. I like the quick connect and the ease and use of the SCBA.
