I am exploring the possibility of entering the side of FF Rehab while I heal from a knee injury last spring but I'm not sure how great the opportunity is. Last time I did rehab work was in high school when I couldn't go interior. So I'm no stranger but feel there's so much to learn about just rehab programs in FD. After much anticipation on getting a final phone call from the Fire Department, I was told on Friday that I had been accepted into Recruit Volunteer school, Sunday was orientation and paperwork and last night was first night of Wildland school! Talk about fast paced! I found myself wanting to soak up everything I can training wise like I was 18 again! But this was not possible without the support of friends, family and FFN....so thank you!

Hey Guys,
I have long debated whether I should pursue my FF 1 certification too. Eventually I would love to work as a Flight medic or a FF/Medic but I haven't totally decided yet. Until the next medic class cycle starts in Jan 2013, I have some time to to get pre-reqs and a FF1 completed. My biggest obtacle is finding the time to complete a FF1 Academy without quitting my current (non Fire/EMS) job. I've done some research on different FF1 programs and keep coming across this…

Recently, I have enrolled in a community college that offers both Fire Science and Paramedic degrees at night. It works perfect with my current work schedule until I complete both degrees and make a career change back into Fire/EMS full time. Although I am stoked to do this, I just found out that the F.S. program does not include the IFSAC FF1 certification.
