Subject: Common Sense Obituary

Mr. Common Sense, birth date unknown.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be forever remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, I should work for what I want and maybe it was my… Continue

Were you born stupid, or did you have to work at it?

People who know me and have seen me work, often ask me why I am no longer a Paramedic. There are several reasons, but one reason might be illustrated by the linked article.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that… Continue

If the Federal bailouts haven't pissed you of yet

As I watched this story, it didn't surprise me that a workers comp claim had been denied, (common in Texas) until I found out who the insurance company is that the Govt. contracted to handle these American civilian citizens who risked their lives to ensure supplies made it to the troops. I am not now, nor will I condone the actions of KBR in Iraq, during the last few years, but I believe AIG might make KBR look like a convent.

I researched the different insurance policies that I… Continue
