You know one of the things that I hate the most is peolpe who say one thing and do another. This is what's wrong with society today, Everyone wants to tell people what they want to here even though they dont mean it! It's like no one has any integrity, or honesty anymore. Who cares what peolpe say about you, Be HONEST, And have RESPECT for yourself AND OTHERS!!!!

Subject: AN EMS CHRISTMAS
Body: AN EMS CHRISTMAS
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through our town,
Ambulances sat quietly-call volume was down.
Dispatchers and medics, without any calls,
All settled all cozily within station walls.
The city grew silent as the night grew deep;
My partner and I settled in for some sleep.
But no sooner dreaming in our beds were we,
When dispatch awoke us, crying, "Hurry! Code 3!"…

We ran another "CSI, New York: Crash Scene Investigation" class tonight at Verdoy Fire Department in Latham, NY (aka the "Taj Mahal" of Upstate NY) {thanks to Chief Dave Leonardo for giving up other plans to stay onsite and assist FASNY after the onsite Verdoy coordinator had a conflict} --
The class is a focused look at emergency services operators injured or killed while responding to a call or while on scene. During a discussion about scene staging, one of our attendees wanted to…

Even fireman have Hero's, sorta werid in my case. My hero is a family member and a fellow firefighter. Captain Ben Hays is my younger brother, he is the other shift captain at CPFD in College Place, Washington. Ben age 31, works full time as a electrician. He then devotes time to serve on a shift for the CP Fire Department. We are as close as any brothers can be. We train together, and teach classes together. Sometimes i even think we even know what the other is thinking. My brother is a…

thank all of the firefighters that have been working day and night to
put these fires out and catch who has been doing this. Your dedication
and hard work has saved many peoples lives. You do good work and we
should all be thankful for your dedication to help and save lives.
Thank you.

This past weekend Magnolia Fire Co. participated in Runnemedes Christmas parade. We took the old engine and the chiefs expedition. We won 2nd place in "best decorated engine" and won "best overall apparatus". The funny thing was that we aren't done decorating the engine. I'll post pics once it's done

I wanted to give my respect to a man that saved my life. Captain
Matthew Martin, from Death Valley. He taught me so much this year,
about myself, about firefighting and how to be stronger as an
individual. He literally saved my life more than once. People like this
guy are hard to find. He was the only person that would back me up,
teach and drive me to be a better stronger firefighter and friend.
Thank you Matt.

[[Okay, this post belongs back with the EMT school entry. This took place then, but I forgot to write about it...how, I don't know.]]
SMACK!
I feel the cold from the concrete as I roll myself over. "Oh...shit," I hear my partner say as he looks down at me. The warm liquid running down my face paired with the searing pain across my cheek tells me I've done some serious damage.
"Sam, your face is like...bleeding!"
Rewind.
All day long we've been in class learning…

On Thanksgiving morning my dept got called out to the Heaven Hill Distillery for a whiskey warehouse on fire. When we arrived there was smoke showing from the roof. It had apparently been struck by lightning the night before and smoldered into the morning hours. We removed the burned area of the roof and soaked the area down, there was no major damage. My dept has had a previous fire here ten years ago that burned several warehouses and nine million gallons of whiskey. It was the largest…
