On Thanksgiving morning my dept got called out to the Heaven Hill Distillery for a whiskey warehouse on fire. When we arrived there was smoke showing from the roof. It had apparently been struck by lightning the night before and smoldered into the morning hours. We removed the burned area of the roof and soaked the area down, there was no major damage. My dept has had a previous fire here ten years ago that burned several warehouses and nine million gallons of whiskey. It was the largest distillery fire in history.
