Greetings all!!

Hey there everyone, I heard about this from a friend of mine and thought I'd give it a try. I have a MySpace account, but sadly my profile page seems to have disappeared into the great void of cyberspace. So, if you visit and get a big blank page...thats why. Hopefully, it can be recovered and I won't have to spend decades redoing all the stuff I had on there.

Anyway, I'm into writing fiction and I've finally gotten off my butt and started working out- got a pretty good plan…

Hot in the big town of Leachville, AR.

Well the weather here in Leachville has been awful. We have had no rain since July 28 and that was the day of the big watermelon happening. It got rained out. Anyway the tempatures have been up towards the 100's with heat index of 110-112. Grass fires are the main problem but cotton picking will start soon and there will probably be some of those.

How do you feel about the public in general?

I feel that when they are in need we as volunteers are their best asset, but if we are not helping them we are just wasting tax payer's money.

You know as well as I do, we do what we do to help the community, it isn't ,(or shouldn't be), for self gratification. When I started as a junior at the ripe ol' age of 14, I thought that would be what I wanted from being in the fire service, all the glory. As I grew older I realized that it wasn't about me at all, I feel now that we are just…

Greetings humanoids!

Blog city here I am. I have survived another edition of the Boston Carribean Festival, perhaps the biggest street party in Boston. For one day the city blocks off Blue Hill Avenue and Franklin Park and allows people to get crazy. And boy do they ever! Even in 100+ degree heat, thousands showed up to march in the parades [two of them!] and just have fun. Costumes were plentiful; some of the paraders were carrying 30 pounds of decorations on their backs.

Yes we had a few problems with…

Local Firefighter Re-posted

Please take a moment to read this and pass it on

My father was a fireman, he drove a big red truck, And when he'd go to work each night, he'd say, "Mother wish me luck". Then Dad would not come home again, 'til sometime the next day,

But the thing that bothered me most, was the things some folks would say. A fireman's life is easy, he eats and sleeps and plays,

And sometimes he doesn't fight a fire for days and days and days.

When I first heard these… Continue

firefighting: a family tradition

Hello everyone! My name is Doug Champaign, I am a firefighter/ emt-B in the big town of Wellsboro, PA. I have been around firefighting all of my life, my dad is a fireman, his dad was a fireman and so on and so on. I have 5 years in as a senior firefighter, but I have 4 years that is off the record as a junior firefighter with the same station. We cover a little over 100 square miles in our first due district and have mutual aid districts that run from 9 miles to 47 miles from our district in… Continue

Called out last night..

Here's and interesting shot of me (left) and my pards making entry into an OLD! one level wood frame (I hate tongue-n-groove ceilings). We didn't find much inside but charred walls and lots of hot spots. The real fire was in the attic by then so we pulled out and went after 'the beast' from the outside. Not our biggest fire of the month, but a good one anyway. Nobody home, nobody hurt.

Of…

Station 4 bowling champs!

Today we won our first annual bowling tournament for the county. We had lots of fun and i strongly suggest that any other county or company out there should try it. It is good for public relations and good for the people you work with.
